A couple before the court for attacking an elderly woman will return to court on June 20.
Ernell Webb and his girlfriend, Fay Marshall, are both accused of assaulting Webb's elderly mother, and previously denied the accusations, when they appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
Pulling mother off bed
Webb is accused of pulling his mother from her bed on to the floor, while Marshall is accused of beating the complainant in the head while she was on the floor, causing her to be hospitalised for one night.
The court was previously told that Marshall and the complainant had been feuding since Marshall accused her of 'setting obeah' on her and placing her panty in a grave. The complainant, on the other hand, accused Marshall of the same. The court heard that one of the complainant's panties had gone missing and has still not been recovered.
'I am sick, your honour'
Marshall told the court,"This woman don't like me and I know she do mi something because of what is going on in my body. I am sick, your honour." She further explained that she had visited the doctor on several occasions and still had not been diagnosed.
She said she went to a 'Zion church' to find out what her ailment was and claimed, "they tell me dat all my problems coming from where I live."
All three appeared in court on June 4, but Webb's mother, who should have been compensated, said she had not yet get her medical bills, so she was unable to say how much she spent. the matter was set for June 20 when she should bring the documents so Webb can compensate her.
