Energy is never-ending when it comes to the sound, Extreme Vybes. Known for their versatility and endless vibes, the sound plans on building an entertainment enterprise.
Formed by Ramero 'DJ Bengal' Brown four years ago, Extreme Vybes has been taking the university party scene by storm before branching out to conquer other events. Also on the sound are selectors DJ Ice Bullet, the humorous and talkative DJ Prolific, DJ Mowayne and DJ Brejon.
Extreme Vybes recently impressed the STAR team with their playing, as well as their ability to 'rouse a crowd' into having a good time.
Ramero explained how Extreme Vybes got started. "I used to play from high school and at Utech, I met up with the others. At first, we were known as Extreme Entertainment and then we evolved into Extreme Vybes. We started playing at, like, all the Utech and UWI fêtes."
Since then, Extreme Vybes has gained experience and popularity as, according to Ramero, the sound has never flopped at any event and has always brought the best to each party. Ramero says that Extreme Vybes emulates other sounds, such as Renaissance and Coppershot Disco which, they believe, can create the real party vibes.
While the sound has not faced many challenges in the business, they pride themselves on their versatility which sets them apart from the pack.
"Our versatility is amazing. If you put together the skills of individual sounds and selectors, you'll get us," Ramero said. One of their most memorable experiences was at 'Striptease' where Ramero says the sound got a better crowd response than the experienced selectors who were present.
Outside of playing at events, according to Ramero, the sound is looking to venture into production and signing artistes to its label. The sound has also put on events, such as Refuel and sees itself as a total entertainment experience.
"Basically, we want to build a total production company, we want to build a website and continue to be on top. I know that we will experience great things," Ramero said.
