Trial date set in 'marital murder' case

The trial of 33-year-old Lisa Nelson who is charged, along with two men, for the murder of her 31-year-old husband Marlon 'Deon' Nelson is to begin on July 14 in the Home Circuit Court.

The accused men are Derrick Weetom and Phillip Allen.

A trial date was set on Monday when the three appeared in court. Nelson and Weetom are on bail while Allen is in custody.

Mr Nelson, who was a Jamaican working as a security guard at Cayman airways in the Cayman Islands, was fatally shot in August 2006 shortly after he landed in Jamaica.

The badly decomposed body was found days later floating in the sea at Buccaneer Beach in Kingston.

The Crown is alleging that the three accused plotted to murder Mr Nelson.
