Several residents of Glasspole Avenue and D'Aguilar Road in Rockfort, east Kingston, fled the community yesterday after four houses were firebombed on Wednesday night.
When the STAR visited the scene, there were smoke, fallen zinc fences and people hurriedly packing their belongings.
Reports are that the residents were forced to flee after the incident which took place at 10 on Wednesday night. It is alleged that men from Oliver Road went to Glasspole Avenue and D'Aguilar Road where they firebombed four houses. Three of the houses were one-bedroom apartments in a tenement yard, the fourth house was a three-bedroom house.
The STAR also understands that many of the persons who were evacuating the area were not victims but they decided to take precautionary measures.
One woman who was seen evacuating told the STAR; "Me used to live down here but mi caan manage the war thing. The Oliver Road man dem tek wi as target, all when wi nuh have nuh war, caah weh dis fa. This weh dem do nuh necessary."
Another resident who was a victim told the STAR that "mi nah fight nuh war so mi nuh know why dem bomb up mi house". She said no one was injured in the attack.
