A man who was caught attempting to export marijuana to Canada told the court that he was travelling with it for his personal use.
Isaac Gooden appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday to answer to charges of possession of, dealing in and taking steps to export marijuana.
Gooden pleaded guilty to the charges but told Resident Magistrate Glen Brown that he wanted the weed for his personal use. While Gooden was preparing for a flight to Canada, his luggage was searched and 9.7 ounces of marijuana found.
He was fined $900 or six months for possession, and was ordered to pay $3,600 or 30 days in jail.
