Contestants and supporters sit in the interview room of the 'Digicel Rising Stars' audition at Hibiscus Lodge in Ocho Rios on Saturday, May 24. - Roger Robinson
The viewing tent was probably the most interesting part of the 'Rising Stars' experience last week. It was the area where all of the contestants provided entertainment for onlookers.
When the performances were good, the contestants were cheered. "The competition dun now," shouted one viewer as she jumped and shouted after her friend was given a call back.
In the event that they were bad, contestants were booed and laughed at. In some cases, those watching lay flat on their backs and laughed at how bad some of the performances were.
The audience laughed the hardest when they saw acts exit the stage after a few words into their performance.
"A trouble dem a go have wid Anthony Miller tomorrow. Him a go deal wid some a dem," shouted one man under the tent after one of the performances.
Laughing friends
Some persons were there to support friends and relatives. A group of young people laughed at their friend who did not get a call back to day two. They even went to the audition door to meet her and then laughed even harder as they exited the venue.
There were persons, like Suzette from Clarendon, who left home at 4 a.m. to accompany a relative to the audition. She arrived in Ocho Rios at 7:30 a.m. and sat on her towel to watch the audition process until it ended at 5 p.m. She said she enjoyed watching, but "the judge dem nuh pick the real talent".

Come out for the final 'Rising Stars' auditions this weekend in Kingston at the Young Women's Christian Association.
