Get ready to wine at Extatic

Krista Henry, Staff Reporter

Now, this is dancing!

Extatic Fridays - the 'Lollipop' edition turned into a dancing showcase as women took to the centre of the dance floor to work up a storm.

With women free before midnight, they turned out in droves in short skirts and shorts and got themselves prepped to wine. When THE STAR team got to the venue after 11 p.m., some persons gathered on the outskirts of the dance floor while others headed for the lawn area, as slow jams by Richie Ras played. Marc Chin from Coppershot, the resident deejay, was on the microphone building a vibe with songs such as Sensual Seduction by Snoop Dogg and Lollipop by Lil Wayne.

Lollipops and chocolates were made available at the bar as the women suggestively licked and danced to the music.

After midnight, Coppershot took over from Richie Ras going for a dancing vibe with songs like Roll It Gal and Bonnie and Clyde.

From soca, the music switched to 'oldies' and the women 'backed it up', showing off their 'coca cola' bottle shapes, while the Durex women took to the center building a vibe. A couple doing a very slow wine drew a few eyes as a woman in black walked out to Lady Saw's tune, her every move being trailed by men.

Wining tunes

The vibe continued to build as Coppershot's Marc Chin and DJ Sanjay hit the recent dancehall hits with a series of wining tunes from Beenie Man and others and couples took to 'daggering'. One couple took their wining to the ground as they intertwined to the delight of the crowd. By 1 a.m. the dance floor was almost full. There was also dancing on the lawns. When Assassin's Surveillance teased, the women got into a frenzy and the men took to the videolight doing To the World and Gully Creeper.

When THE STAR team left after 3 a.m. the party was still going strong, with the vibe this week more ecstatic than the one before.
