THE EDITOR, Sir:
Teenage pregnancy is a major problem in Jamaica. Too many teenagers are getting pregnant, some as young as 13 or 14 years old.
Quite recently, it was announced that condoms would be distributed in schools. I think it's a wrong initiative to distribute condoms in schools. It would mean that you are encouraging sex in schools. The aim should be to stop sex in school.
sex on stairs
Quite recently, I had the opportunity to go on a website and watch teenagers having sex. One of the most disgusting episodes was a schoolboy having sex with a schoolgirl on a stairs. These children appeared to be between 12 and 13 years old.
Why are these schoolchildren so 'force ripe'? What about the role of the parents? They need to take more drastic steps to curb their children.
I am, etc.,
