The word 'fat' has been loaded with negative and derogatory connotations for years, many of which have eroded the self-esteem of those who did not fit into the skinny mould. the phrase 'big fat and sour' is one that resonates with many fluffy women and is used as a weapon of disrespect and to demean.

How could I then say fat when fluffy women are not bound by this ideology and do not subscribe to this notion?

I'm aghast at some of those who readily hurl this insult when they sometimes smell like when rubbish a burn or smell like dem perfume name cedar 3000!

I came up with the terminology 'fluffy' because it is indicative of being fun, sexy, fabulous and desirable. I know many women like myself who are comfortable with their weight and do not have a slim wish!

I also know that nuff man want fluffy women and would rather have us pon di edge and to cuddle with than be counting ribs all night long and not being able to tell our back different from our chest.

All some people weh nuttin naw gwaan fa inna life will have di audacity to step to a fluffy woman and seh a ting like 'laawd! yu get fat eeeh! A wah yu a get big a go!?' all said in slow motion like a big truck going over Mount Rosser.

Neglecting to highlight the fact seh dem teet and gum rotten, dem house a leak, an dem still a tek di people dem man weh nuh waa dem caw dem a nuh goodas.

I believe that putting down someone to hide your own shortcoming is despicable, talk 'bout yuh cavities and your empty house first.

There is a difference between being fluffy and obese. Fluffy being that I like myself with 'meat', and obese being of medical detri,ment to an individual. High cholesterol, diabetes and hypertension are not relegated to only fluffy women, but to anyone who leads an unhealthy lifestyle.

You could weigh a hundred pounds and be very unhealthy.

Let me say that it is imperative that we have to be fluffy responsibly, so don't exclude exercise, eating healthy, looking good and wearing the right clothes.

Fluffy ladies, we haffi deh 10 steps ahead a di 'hatas'! We only have an issue with those who make our weight their issue so you could be slim but fluffy inna yuh heart.

The fact is if you accept us, we accept you as we all couldn't be the same.

Surround yourself with positive people and let people know when they have crossed the line with their venomous comments.

Nobody is flawless and though some have flat belly, fi dem flaw big and wide like highway 2000! Love and appreciate yourself, flaws and all, and once you're beautiful on the inside, it will reflect on the outside.
