He wants time to leave her

Dear Pastor,

I am a 24-year-old young woman and I need your advice. I have been in a relationship with a young man for a year now. When we met, he told me he was single, but I recently found out that he has a girlfriend of three years and they live together and she is pregnant. After all of that, I still want to be with him. I really do love this man. He is now telling me that it's over between them and he wants to be with me, but he is still living at her house. He tells me that he has some "stuff" to take care of first and I should give him some time to leave her.

Pastor, please give me your advice.

N.N., Georgia, USA

Dear N. N.,

It is up to you to believe his lies. When you met him, he did not speak the truth. Why do you think he is speaking the truth now? I can't encourage you to continue in this relationship. Liars don't change easily. Now that the woman is pregnant, why would he walk away from her? He is living in her house. He is not for real, my dear. Run him.

Pastor
