A man, who, reportedly had sex with a 14-year-old girl, was brought before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday to answer to carnal-abuse charges.

Allegations in the matter are that the minor had run away from home and was staying at the home of 38-year-old Christopher Hibbert. The court was told that while she was staying there, they reportedly had sexual relations.

Hibbert, however, told the court a different story. He said he met the minor in a nightclub in New Kingston and she told him she was 18 years old. He continued that he believed her, as persons under that age were not usually allowed in nightclubs.

The matter was put off to be mentioned again on June 9.
