Intruder shot

A man who allegedly pointed a gun at a licensed firearm holder was fatally shot and the weapon taken from him at Jupiter Road, Harbour View, in the Kingston 17 area early Monday morning.

The dead man has not yet been identified.

Reports are that about 3:30 a.m., the licensed firearm holder was asleep when he was awakened by strange sounds coming from a section of his house and went to investigate. Upon seeing the intruder, the licensed firearm holder attempted to challenge him.

The intruder allegedly pulled a firearm and pointed it at the licensed firearm holder who pulled his firearm and opened fire hitting the intruder. A 9mm pistol with three 9mm cartridges was taken from the dead man.

The police were summoned and the injured man was taken to hospital where he was admitted and later died.

The firearm was handed over to the Harbour View Police.

POLICE INVESTIGATE MAN'S DEATH

Gunmen shot and killed a 38-year-old man in Effortsville District, Clarendon on Sunday night.

The dead man has been identified as Randall Mitchell, 38, also known as 'Fire' of the same district.

Reports are that about 11:30 p.m., residents heard explosions and called the police. On their arrival, Mitchell was seen suffering from gunshot wounds at the front of a shop. He was taken to the May Pen Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
