There are many challenges that face young people today. However, by making wise choices and surrounding oneself with positive people, a young person will always strive to be the best.

In today's society, it is extremely difficult for young women who sometimes feel that they don't have any role models. This article is to motivate young women to uplift themselves by seeing the beauty within, being disciplined and focused.

There was a time when I didn't feel I was beautiful, but by having positive role models, I was able to see my beauty from within. I urge young women to find pleasure in your creativity instead of looking externally through material things or men.

You only get one chance to be a young woman and you don't want to approach your adulthood wishing you hadn't done certain things or that you had not been more responsible. Don't be caught up in appearances in that you lose the basic values of life like honesty, friendship, and positive thinking.

Very challenging

Sometimes, life can be very challenging. the choices that we make today affect our tomorrow. Go to school, excel and be disciplined. They say, if you want to hide something from people, put it in a book. Your future depends on the daily decisions you make at school, whether to be with the crowd that does their work or be with the crowd that makes trouble. The road you choose will navigate your life.

It is very important as you go through life to be focused and set goals for yourself. A simple goal could be getting As for the term, doing well on your GSAT, being accepted in a university or starting a business. Whatever you want to do in life, visualise it and make a plan. Once you have developed a plan that is feasible, execute your plan and accomplish your goal.

Set new goals

After that goal has been accomplished, begin to set new ones as you go through life.

In conclusion, everyone is a role model whether you realise it or not. In primary school, the elementary schools look up to you; and in high school, the primary students look up to you. Everyone has a part to play, each one, teach one to reach one.

In the collective community, it takes a village to raise a child. If we aspire to set an example for our peers, the community will be a better place to live in. If we aspire to be great, seeds of greatness will flourish in Jamaica and together, we, the youth, will make it a better place.
