School thieves held

Dwayne Mcleod, Staff Reporter

Thieves forced their way into the Breaton Primary and Junior High School in Portmore, St Catherine, and made off with several items and money, but could not elude the police long enough to share their spoils.

According to Constable Verdane Wright of the St Catherine South police, early Wednesday morning, thieves reportedly cut a hole into the roof of the principal's office and made their way around various areas of the school compound before stealing two computers, soft drinks, an undetermined sum of money and other items.

The alleged four culprits, one of whom is reportedly a 16-year-old student of the institution, were later accosted by the police.

The student, along with 18-year-old Rasheed Lindo, André Brown and Tyrone Gail, 21, are now facing charges of housebreaking and larceny.

Reports are that the accused men led the police to a premises in 7 West, Greater Portmore, St Catherine, where the stolen items were then recovered.

Beres Flynn, 26, was reportedly at the premises during the seizure and was consequently arrested and charged with receiving stolen property.
