spanish town

A St Catherine man implicated in the shooting and injuring of a policeman, was pointed out during an identification parade and is booked to appear in the Spanish Town RM Court next week.

Charge with shooting with intent, wounding with intent, and illegal possession of firearm is Christopher Watson, 22, a labourer from Zion Lane, Central Village.

Watson was charged by Detective Corporal Rodney Matthews of the Central Village Police following an identification parade held on May 6.

The police claim that on March 25, about 2 a. m., a police party on patrol along Mandela Highway reached Nine Eleven Lane, when two men were spotted. The men fired at the patrol and a policeman was hit in the shoulder.

Police said Watson turned up at the Kingston Public Hospital suffering from gunshot wounds and was taken into custody. He was charged after being pointed out.
