Man still in 'hot oil'

A man, who is accused of throwing hot oil on his co-worker during a dispute at their work place, was remanded in custody on Wednesday in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrates Court.

Twenty-one-year-old Rayon Clarke is before the courts answering of charges to assault occasioning grievous bodily harm. Clarke is expected to settle his legal representation for the next court date scheduled for May 28.

He was arrested two weeks after the incident as he allegedly stopped going to work.

It is alleged that on April 16, the men were at work at a popular fast food restaurant in Montego Bay when the complainant found his shirt in a garbage bin. The report made a report to his manager and during the conversation, the accused made certain utterances and an argument followed.

It is alleged that during the argument, Clarke threw hot oil on his co-worker causing injury to the left side of his face, shoulder and arm. Another worker was also allegedly injured.

The complainant showed his burns to the court.The court is awaiting a medical report to ascertain the extent of the complainant's injuries.
