Australia, the world's best cricket team, had a light workout at Sabina Park yesterday, ahead of Friday's opening tour match against Jamaica at the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium.
The full squad, led by captain Ricky Ponting, spent a little over two hours doing drills to loosen their legs after 25 hours in the air over the past couple of days.
"We are just having a run around this afternoon," said Australian media manager Lucky Patterson.
"We were on the plane for the last couple of days, so, we are just taking the opportunity to stretch and have a run around," he added.
However, he pointed out that the world number one team would be looking to get some net sessions in, over the next couple of days, before departing for Trelawny on Thursday.
Patterson believes Friday's game against Jamaica to be an important one as far as overall preparation for the upcoming series was concerned.
The Digicel home series between West Indies and Australia will have three Test matches. The first will begin at Sabina Park in Jamaica from May 22-26. The series will then move to the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua from May 30-June 3 and then to the Kensington Oval in Barbados from June 12-16.
There will also be five one-day internationals, beginning at Arnos Vale, St Vincent, on June 24, then the Grenada National Stadium on June 27 and 29, Warner Park, St Kitts, between July 4 and 6 and then a Twenty20 International at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on June 20.
On Monday, coach Timothy Nielsen said all the players were fit and ready to go.
"We had a good training camp in Brisbane and it was really good from my point of view to get the group back together and focus on playing for Australia over the five days of Test match cricket." he said.
