Cops search for alleged 'choppa' farmer

Police are searching for a farmer who they believe killed Errol Simpson of Smithville, Clarendon yesterday.

Simpson, 43, was killed about 12.30 p.m. Police say he was in the process of leaving his farm when he was attacked by a man. After being chopped several times, Simpson was taken to the May Pen Hospital where he died.

When THE STAR visited the hospital, Simpson's wife, Denise, said her husband called her after he was chopped. "Him call mi about 12:30 and tell mi seh a man chop him up and him dung a bush and him a go dead, so mi fi call someone fi help him," she said.

While mourning her sudden loss, she said. "... I don't know how I am going to manage because him dead leaving a three-month old baby."

The man accused of the crime is being sought by the Mocho and Frankfield police.
