It was a clean sweep for the 23-year-old language teacher, Crystal Hall, in taking the Trelawny Festival Queen crown at the Starfish Resort on Sunday.
Hall, who teaches at William Knibb Memorial High School, took all the sectional prizes including Most Culturally Aware, Most Talented and Most Congenial. Had there been a Best Gown prize, many believe that the smashing gown she wore would also have taken this prize. She also blew the competitors away in the interview.
By being chosen 'Most Con-genial' by her peers is also an indication of her affable nature, which came out quite vividly during her presentation. From the moment she introduced herself, she established herself as one of the contestants to beat and for every interaction, she grew in favour.
Whoa bacra
While Crystal's dance correctly won the talent contest, a piece by second-place contestant Kerridene Taylor, the 18-year-old student who bemoaned the abuse of ladies by the 'bacra massa', also stole the hearts of the audience.
Third place went to the 19-year-old guest service representative Deleeshia Russell.
