It pays to love

Dear Pastor,

I am in a relationship with an old boyfriend. I am in love with him without a doubt. I, however, am starting to wonder if love is good enough. He can never buy me gifts, or take me out. I wanted to go visit him last week, but because I had no money to buy my own ticket, I didn't see him. Pastor, he is not working, but if he needs to he will find money to take care of his child, or do something nice for his mother, but never for me. Then he will act all sad saying he is sorry and he knows I deserve the world and he will give it to me one day. I don't know what to do. I know he loves me, but I want things that money can buy too.

Dear A. G.,

I suggest that you hang on in there with this man. You know he is a good man. He is not working, but he is trying. You should be proud of him. Think of it. Although he is struggling so much, he tries to support his child and to assist his mother. Some guys wouldn't care about their children or find ways in helping their mothers. So, be patient. And don't give this man the impression that all you want is money.

Pastor
