Kudos to 'Sisters'

THE EDITOR, Sir:

The idea to have a Sister to Sister media marathon from Minister of Information, Culture, Youth and Sports Olivia 'Babsy' Grange, was an excellent one. This event was aimed at raising funds to build a shelter for battered women and pregnant teenagers. The target is $10 million and so far, from the event which happened between Sunday, April 13 and Monday April 14, 2008, the figure announced was $9 million by Chairman of the Sister to Sister Media Marathon, Paula-Ann Porter Jones.

I want to publicly thank the sisters who made this possible. Sisters from mainly the media and the entertainment arena.

I must also sincerely thank the individuals who have contributed in cash. The wonderful company GraceKennedy, which contributed the largest sum of $1 million thus far. I am extremely proud to be a part of such a wonderful and worthwhile establishment, always giving back to society in a meaningful way. I am inviting other firms to take a leaf out of GraceKennedy's book. Keep up the good job Grace. I am very proud of you.

This brother is saying a big thank you on behalf of our sisters, to all the participants who made this programme a success. Thank you all and please let love rule in all the things you do.

I am, etc.,

Radcliffe 'Rado' Onfroy
