A very comical Nathaniel Brady appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court last Friday.
Brady, in his late 40s, pleaded guilty to obtaining a passport by false means and making a false declaration. He told RM Glen Brown that he obtained a passport in his cousin's name. "Him fava mi your honour, so a mi picture, only different name," he said.
The accused said he obtained a passport in May 2002, then got the one in his cousin's name in May the next year. Brady said when he applied for a British visa, the system at the embassy saw his two pictures, they figured he had two passports and made a report to the police.
He was fined $50,000 or six months for obtaining, and $25,000 or three months for the false declaration.
