16-y-o killed in double murder

Two double murders occurred between Saturday night and yesterday afternoon.

Three men, two of whom were still unidentified up to press time last night, and a 16-year-old girl are among those killed in the incidents.

The two unidentified men were shot dead in Bayshore Park, Kingston 17, on, Saturday night, while the other man, Richard Thompson, 37, and the teen, Monique Solomon, both from Waltham Park Road, were killed when gunmen invaded their community yesterday. A man was also injured in that shooting.

In the Bayshore Park incident, the Constabulary Communication Network said residents heard explosions about 10:30 p.m. and summoned the police who, on arrival, found the bodies of both men on a roadway in the community. One of the men was in a white shirt and blue jeans while the other was dressed in a black merino, blue jeans pants and a pair of black shoes.

In the other incident, police say about 12:45 p.m., a group of heavily armed men travelling in a motor car invaded a section of 83-Lane. The gunmen fired several shots indiscriminately, hitting the three. The injured persons were taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where Thompson and Solomon were pronounced dead and the other man treated and released.
