A 17-year-old boy is now facing charges of illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, after a Glock 19 semi-automatic pistol loaded with 13 live rounds was taken from his waist at his home in Dover district, Annotto Bay, St Mary, on Tuesday.

Police reports are that about 9 p.m. on Tuesday the police, who were on patrol in the area, noticed the teenager acting in a suspicious manner. He was subsequently searched and the weapon found tucked into his waist. He was taken to the Annotto Bay Police Station where he was arrested and charged.

CCN liaison officer for the parish, Corporal Angella Mc-Taggart, said the teenager is scheduled to face an identification parade as he is suspected of being linked to a shooting in the parish a week ago.

The Annotto Bay police are continuing their investigation.
