Man accused of destroying 'informer's' stuff

A man accused of destroying furniture belonging to an alleged 'informer' was remanded when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Rajay Brown appeared before RM Glen Brown to answer to charges of breaking and entering and malicious destruction of property.

The allegations are that Brown was part of a group of men who broke into the complainant's home and destroyed several pieces of furniture. The court was told that the complainant was labelled an informer and was reportedly being tormented so he would leave the community.

Both Brown and his lawyer, however, were quite surprised at the allegations and told the court that as far as they knew, he was arrested for damaging the complainant's garden.

The matter was put off until May 6 to allow Brown's attorney enough time to hear the allegations.
