Dubbed the 'Rum Ram King' by former host Denise Hunt in last year's competition, Romain Virgo also showed that he was king of Digicel Rising Stars when he placed first.
The competition's youngest winner, Romain is keen on producing high-quality music and has plans to release an album soon.
"I'm definitely planning on working on it," he said.
A student of Aabuthnott Gallimore High School in St Ann, this humble, talented and motivated young man is currently in the studio working on a number of original songs with Donovan Germaine of Penthouse records.
Since winning the competition, Romain has performed on a variety of shows, and has proven that the Digicel Rising Stars competition is really the beginning of a long and successful career in the music industry.
He wowed Jamaica with his youthful charisma and 'boy next door' charm, signalling that he is definitely set for great things. Romain says his biggest challenge now, is balancing school work, spending time at the studio, doing recordings and performing at a number of shows. Despite this, however, he is still focused on pursuing music full-time. The teenager with the big voice says he has plans of enrolling at the Edna Manley College for the Visual and Performing Arts this year, to pursue studies in music.
