It was two days of fun for the family at the Best Dress 50Fest held over the weekend on the grounds of the Manchester High School in Mandeville.

The Best Dress 50Fest was hosted by Jamaica Broilers in celebration of their 50th anniversary. The show saw them joining with the churches of Jamaica and the Luis Palau Ministries to organise and use the platform to preach Christianity.

The two-day event, which could be dubbed a gospel fest was well attended by families from central Jamaica on both days, but saw the greatest crowd on Sunday.

The kids were up for a great deal of fun as there were a lot of activities for them. These included bounce-a-bouts, volcano island, clowns, rides, face-painting activities and musical performances from the Veggie Tales.

The audience had the chance to be entertained by the thrilling demonstrations from extreme stunt riders and skaters from the USA. The stunt riders have been using freestyle motorcross to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ across the world.

There was a great variety of food and refreshment on sale at the food court provided by KFC, Gypsy Café, Reggae Jammins, Wisynco, Domino Pizza, True Juice and Jerk by Heather Little-Whyte.

The gospel concerts held on both evenings were the most anticipated events by the young adults who tuned in for a great soul

stirring and fulfilling deal which included testimonies from members of the Luis Palau ministry.

Gospel artiste Hensley King from Mandeville set the pace on Saturday evening when MC Tony Young invited him on stage at 6 o'clock. King took the crowd in a gospel frenzy.

Chosen Vessel who did songs like Lift Our Hands, Got The Victory, and Imagine Me by Kirk Franklyn also placed the crowd in a party mood when they did their piece

Jesus Party.

The new and exciting Grace Thrillers put the crowd on a high with songs like Amen, Can't Even Walk and Satan Is A Raging Bull, before they went back to the old days with songs like I Love You Jesus, Tear Drops and Sunrise.

Prodigal Son brought the curtains down on Saturday night after a half hour of high energy performance.

Sunday night was the most anticipated night as the crowd was out to see the performances of Carlene Davis and DJ Nicholas. Carlene Davis' half hour performance had the crowd unleashing high energy as they were entertained both by songs of praises and dances from Davis and her dancers.

It was 8 o'clock when MC for Sunday night Nigel Wilkinson introduced the crowd's most anticipated gospel artiste, DJ Nicholas. His extended performance, which included combinations from Jason Mighty and Judith Gayle, set the crowd on fire.

The 50Fest continues this weekend in Montego Bay and Kingston and promises a greater deal as the audience will have the chance to be entertained by performances from international sensations Toby Mac and Israel Haughton.
