Austrian media are reporting that a father kept his daughter captive in a cellar for 24 years.

Austrian broadcaster ORF, citing authorities yesterday, says the victim is a 42-year-old woman.

The report also claims that the man fathered four children with his daughter, including a 19-year-old girl who is currently hospitalised in the lower Austrian town of Amstetten.

Police declined to immediately confirm the report to The Associated Press, saying only that an investigation was under way.
