FirstCaribbean International Bank Jamaica Limited has provided assistance for four of the high school teams now competing at the 114th Penn Relays in Pennsylvania.
The four, Calabar High, 2007 Boys' Champions; Vere Technical, Alpha Girls and Ardenne High shared the bank's $200,000 sponsorship package.
Milton Brady, managing director of FirstCaribbean International Bank, was on hand at the National Stadium on Tuesday to bid farewell and good luck to coach Michael Clarke and the Calabar team which left for the Relays on Wednesday.
Reiterating FirstCaribbean's commitment to advancing the development of youth in the region, Brady said the role of sports and in particular, athletics, in building discipline and productivity, has been proven again and again.
He noted too, the tremendous contributions of Jamaica's sports men and women in bringing international acclaim to the island and challenged Calabar to "go to Penns and be great ambassadors".
FirstCaribbean International Bank, Brady said, "Is totally committed to investing in our people and our communities, that's why we put so much of our resources behind providing support for sport, education and business development."
