Errol Dowdie, born in Rose Town, Kingston, has been part of the music fraternity for the last 22 years, but is still awaiting his time to shine.
He claimed his desire to be an entertainer started when he competed at a clash at the Waltham Park Road bar.
"I was encouraged to take music to another level and started to record with Bobby Digital, where I have done singles such as Give God Praise, Violence in the Street, She is my Girl, and a number of other records," Dowie said.
The man who is called 'Mr Recipe', said the years have not stopped him from trying and, currently, his single Guns More Than Mango is getting rapid rotations on several radio stations. He said it is recorded on L.A. Lewis' Seven Star General Label.
He has performed at the recent JamWorld fun day on March 24, Ghetto Splash and other events. His continued inspiration comes from the likes of Bushman and other cultural artistes.
He told The STAR that he is still seeing the light as recently he was approached by Golden Chime Sound out of Japan and has done a number of specials for them. The name Mr Recipe, he says, has given him an edge.
"Because of how me spice up the lyrics and me have a slur, de people dem just call me Mr Recipe and they continue to gravitate to it."
The father of two sons says he will keep the musical recipe and continue to deliver lyrics that will be beneficial to all.
