Most women would go to great lengths to provide for their families. This includes working long hours and working more than one job. The same can also be said for some men. We wanted to find out how far this desire to provide for family could go, so we asked:

If you were not able to support yourself and your immediate family, would you consider becoming a prostitute of one kind or another, or would you not consider becoming a prostitute in order to support yourself?

It seems the majority of those polled would never go as far as prostituting in order to provide for their families. What is interesting, however, is that both the male and female respondents answered in the same fashion - six per cent of both men and women said they would consider it, while 93 per cent said they would never.

Many prostitutes have said the reason behind their career choice was the desire to provide for family. It is therefore not hard to believe that the six per cent who said they would consider prostitution would actually do it.

The poll was conducted on January 28 - 29 by Johnson Survey Research Limited.
