A man who reportedly collected $65,000 for work that was never done and material that was never bought appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday.
Orville Edwards was reportedly hired by the complainant to do some work on her house. She reportedly paid the accused $65,000, some of which was to purchase the necessary materials.
The court heard that Edwards later told the complainant that he had borrowed the money and that he would repay her. This, however, has not been done.
Edwards told RM Glen Brown that he did not take any money with him, and claimed he was only "responsible" for four sheets of zinc. He was told to return to court on May 12, with at least $25,000. His bail was extended.
