Four killed by the gun

At least four persons were killed in separate incidents over the weekend, police reports indicate.

The Kingston Central CIB are investigating the death of a woman on East Queen Street in downtown Kingston on Sunday morning.

Dead is Maxine Smith, 43, of Pryce Lane, Kingston. Police reports are that about 2:50 a.m., Smith was walking along East Queen Street when she was approached by a gunman who shot her and escaped. She died on the spot .

Meanwhile, the Hunts Bay Police are probing a murder, which also occurred on Sunday morning, on Waltham Park Road, Kingston 13.

Dead is Oniel Bryan, 31, otherwise called 'Tuffist', of Waltham Park Road. The police said about 3:45 a.m., residents heard explosions and called the police, who came and found Brown's body in a yard. It had several gunshot wounds.

In Spanish Town, a man identified only as 'Patrick' and 'Soupy' was shot dead by gunmen at his home last Saturday morning.

Reports are that about 2 a.m. police were called to a section Greendale community after a gunshots were heard. During a search of the community, Patrick's body was found with a gunshot wound at the side of his house on Lorna Avenue. The Spanish Town police are investigating.

In another murder, a bank clerk was killed along Mannings Hill Road, Kingston 8, last Friday. Dead is Charlie Young, 38-year-old of Roehampton Close, Kingston 19.

A release from the police state that about 5:40 a.m., Young was walking along Mannings Hill Road when he was approached by a man. After a brief conversation, the man pulled a gun and shot him. Young was taken to the University Hospital of the West Indies where he was admitted and later died.
