Sporting thrash Georges 5-1

Keisha Hill, Staff Reporter

It was sweet revenge for Sporting Central Academy yesterday as they trounced St. George's 5-1 in a largely one-sided encounter at Brancourt in the Coca-Cola National Under-21 League.

The game could be described as a keen tussle as both teams played to a 1-1 draw during their last meeting. Sporting Central now move into fourth place on 28 points ahead of Tivoli Gardens (26), while St George's have dropped to fifth place on 27.

Davin McKay delivered for Sporting Central scoring a hat-trick in the 43rd, 65th and 89th minutes. Levaughn Williams further solidified his team's victory by scoring a double in the 73rd and 77th minutes.

After a seemingly bad spell, Portmore United have regained their form and have scored their fourth win in a row as they defeated a struggling Seba United 2-0 at Jarrett Park. Ricardo Cousins netted for the winners in the second minute and Bryan Baylis scored from the penalty spot in the 66th minute.

August Town did not show for their encounter against Arnett Gardens and Village United also failed to show for their match against Reno at Frome.

At the Waterhouse Mini Stadium, Waterhouse drew 1-1 with Tivoli Gardens and leaders Harbour View edged Boys' Town 2-0 at the Harbour View Mini Stadium.
