Men accused of car stripping

Rasbert Turner, STAR Writer

Spanish Town

The Guanaboa Vale Police in St Catherine have taken two men into custody on larceny charges after the parts of several motor vehicles were allegedly found in a truck that was being driven by one of the men.

Reports reaching THE STAR are that about 2 p.m. on Monday, police were called along the Kitson Town main road to investigate a traffic accident. They observed that the driver of the truck was acting suspiciously. The police then checked the body of the truck and found several parts belonging to a Toyota 4Runner and other motor vehicles on board.

The driver of the truck was taken into custody and he, reportedly, took the lawmen to another location near Kitson Town where other motor vehicles, also believed to be stolen, were located.

In recent times, the police in that area have recovered several motor vehicles that were scrapped by men who are believed to be operating a car stealing ring in the area.

Detective Corporal Kirk Roach said the police will continue to work on dealing with persons involved in the theft of motor vehicles and any other crime.
