A dip in energy levels at

Krista Henry, Staff Reporter

Vibes Ihatas jump during the remix of 'Apologise'.

Compared to last week's energetic performances in the STAR-sponsored Dancin' Dynamites, Sunday's episode fell short of the competition's usually high standards.

Dubbed the remix night, the groups were asked to create dance moves to a variety of genres such as dancehall and soca mixed in with a few older tunes.

Two groups, X Factor and Blazers, were eliminated from the competition leaving only eight dance groups. Those left to display their skills this week were: Venom Squad, G Squad, Hypa Active Clique and HJ Squad. Also returning were: Unlimited Dancers, Mad Links and Ghetto Rise.

G Squad had the third highest votes, while HJ Squad had the second highest number and Hypa Active Clique finished on top.

Dancin' Dynamites first ever winners, Vibes Ihatas guest starred on the show, performing to a mix of One Republic's Apologise which incorporated some dancehall. The duo has appeared in a number of music videos and worked as back-up dancers for dancehall artiste Mr Vegas.

G Squad from Montego Bay got the dance party going with one male dressed as an old woman, slowly disrobing to a dancehall soca combo remix.

HJ Squad followed with a nice finish as they showed off their acrobatic moves. The young, girl-boy combination of Hypa Active Clique showcased their male-female dynamics with good interaction between the two dancers and made a smooth transition from a matrix-styled slow-motion move to Busy Signal's Pon Di Edge.

According to Judge Orville Hall, G Squad needed more choreography and less dramatics while Neila Ebanks found Hypa Active Squad to be "very cute." Yet according to Orville, Hypa Active Squad "unnu really move me, yuh always a change and yuh step up yuh work."

Another group, Unlimited Dancers, really went into character as they were given a very retro remix and they dressed the part donning old school rap workout suits. They got 'funky' to the beat and appeared very coordinated.

Venom Squad, one of the remaining crews went retro with the worm move. Mad Links incorporated a number of new dancehall moves such as the 'Nuh Linga' in there routine.

Kevin Webb from To-Isis was the guest judge who said Unlimited Dancers had a "good vibe."

Neila loved Unlimited's take on a Jackson Five move. "I loved the energy and the idea, you just need to dance facing different directions." Orville, in the meantime, was particularly impressed claiming "mi couldn't write, mi respect unnu."

Untouchable Squad made some changes to the group as they drafted the help of a girl to aid their performance. The change in personnel caused Orville to dub it "a refreshing change." The group was commended for their moves.

Ghetto Rise was, however, given a very slow set to dance to as they tried to make-do with their draw using a number of slow moves that did not impress the judges.

The show ended with a stellar, yet brief, performance from guest performer veteran Flourgon.
