USA drub Jamaica 6-0

Jamaica's Reggae Girlz were drubbed 6-0 by the United States in their final Group A match in the 2008 CONCACAF Women's Olympic qualification last Friday at the Estadio Ol'mpico Benito Juarez in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Two goals by Mary Abby Wambach and one each from Lauren Cheney, Tobin Heath, Carli Lloyd, and Heather O'Reilly sealed victory for the United States.

The result eliminated Jamaica from the CONCACAF Women's Olympic qualification and placed the USA alongside Mexico into the semi-finals with a first-round match remaining.

In an earlier encounter last Friday, Costa Rica played to a 2-2 draw with Trinidad and Tobago in Group B action. Maylee Attin-Johnson and Kennya Cordner scored for Trinidad & Tobago, but Costa Rica answered with goals from Cristin Granados and Amara Wilson.

Last night, Canada were scheduled to face Costa Rica in Group B action before Mexico oppose the USA in Group A .

The semi-finals and final of the CONCACAF tournament will take place on April 9 and 12.

The two finalists at the CONCACAF event will also progress to the women's Olympic football tournament in Beijing.
