Still missing

( L - R ) Oshane Jones, Omar Dennis - File photos

Months after THE STAR began running their pictures and the desire of their loved ones to find them, Oshane Jones, Omar Dennis and David Ashley are still missing.

Consequently, THE STAR, in collaboration with the Jamaica Constabulary Force, needs your help in finding these missing persons. We hope you can assist us and their loved ones in locating them. If you have seen these persons or know their whereabouts, please contact 119 or the nearest police station.

The three persons were featured as some of those missing between 2006 and 2007.

Up to late last month, they were again featured as still missing. And, based on checks with the police and family, things remain the same.

Beverley Anderson's son, Oshane Jones, disappeared September 4, last year. Jones, 12, went missing after he went with friends to look for sticks to make catapults. His mother said he went to a swamp with his friends and that was the last time he was seen.

To date, although several divers have combed the entire wetlands of the Lacovia area in St Elizabeth, Jones remains missing. His mother is still hoping he will return home soon.

"Mi a beg God fi give me some strength because mi nuh know what happen to him. Mi nuh know if him dead or him alive," said Anderson.

In the case of David Ashley, he has been missing one year now. No one knows what happened after he left his home in Arnett Gardens, St Andrew, last April to go to Greenwich Town to buy gas. To make matters worse, one of Ashley's sisters died last week not knowing what happened to her brother.

"She nuh know if him (Ashley) dead or alive because she tek sick and dead last week. We nah hear nutten an' we would a waan know what a gwaan," said Dennis Barrett, Ashley's friend.

Omar Dennis left home in 2006 and has not returned.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of any of the persons mentioned above is being asked to contact 119 or the nearest police station.

Anyone knowing Ashley's whereabouts is being asked to contact 119, the Denham Town police at 923-6441, or Dennis Barrett at 464-6145.

Those knowing Jones' location should contact Anderson at 418-5814 or the Lacovia Police Station at 966-6844.
