It has been a few years since Noddy Virtue impressed audiences on Digicel's Rising Stars in 2005 but Virtue has not been forgotten by the fans who are all anxiously awaiting the artiste's debut musical work. It has been three years since the small time St Elizabeth farmer explored his love for music on Digicel's Rising Stars, but for Virtue it was time well spent in the studio producing 'quality music'.
Make it worthwhile
He told the STAR, "People see Noddy as a man who come to Rising Stars and sing love songs, inspirational songs, you can't come out of Rising Stars and do anything. Yuh haffi spend the time doing something worthwhile. Its takes time to put an album together, to put together music I love."
Virtue's 18-track album is just that - music that focuses on love in a variety of ways including lovers' rock songs, soul, cultural and more. Noddy takes the classic approach to his album with clean music suitable for all age groups.
Already out on the airwaves is Virtue's combination with fellow Rising Stars contestant Jodian Pantry, titled Bed of Roses. Fourteen of the 18 tracks are original singles written by Noddy and his writing team.
While the album is yet to be released, its already creating a buzz with Noddy contemplating a distribution deal with America- based companies Virgin and Atlantic Records. While his career is headed for the stars, he's still the same rootsy person he always was, still living in St Elizabeth and forever praising his days on Rising Stars.
He said: "This album, my first, reminds me of my days on Rising Stars. This feels like when I entered and you feel like something big is gonna happen. I was surprised at how successful I was on the show, but I know within myself that this album is gonna be great."
Noddy had nothing but praises to sing of the show that launched his career, appealing to anyone with talents as a singer to enter the show.
"Anyone with talent, Rising Stars is the biggest thing in the island. No producer can do what Rising Stars can do for people, you're on TV for three to four weeks and go to other places in the Caribbean" he told the STAR.
In the meantime, the artiste is preparing for a five-week tour across the United States and anticipating the love he will be receiving after the launch of his album.
