With only two rounds left to complete the preliminary stage, only the St Catherine pair of Rivoli and Naggo Head are confirmed for the semi-finals of the South Central Confederation Super League.
Rivoli, the mid-season champions, lead Zone A on 27 points, five clear of Naggo Head. Both teams are well ahead of the other challengers in this group. Morgan's Pass are next on eight and among a quartet of teams facing the drop. Four teams are usually relegated, however, with Los Perfectos and Arlington throwing in the towel early, only two from the present lot will face that fate.
Fans will get a chance to see them for the last time in group action this weekend when the two face off.
In Zone B there continues to be a keen tussle to decide the two semi-final spots. Clarendon's Humble Lions who were beaten in the mid-season final, lead the charge on 22 points, three more than newcomers Bodles of St Catherine.
A point back on 18 are Manchester's lone rangers, Hillstars. Humble Lions are out of action in this weekend's schedule.
Bodles appear to have the tougher of the battles as they travel to Curatoe Hill to play Original Hazard who badly need the points to avert any danger of relegation. Hillstars on the other hand, should have things much easier facing St Elizabeth's Tafari Lions, a team which unfortunately lost the services of its main administrator and coach, Courtney Brown due to his untimely passing.
