I can't curb my temper

Dear Pastor,

I am having a problem. I am a 22-year-old young woman who is living with my baby-father and our baby boy. I love my boyfriend with all my heart, just the same as he loves me. But I am just so miserable at times. Everything bothers me. I always curse him and I am afraid that one day he is going to leave me. Sometimes I pamper him and at other times I just get angry at him for simple things. I don't know why I am so easy to get upset, even though he always laughs and tells me that I have concerns. One day he will be serious and leave me. My family means the entire world to me. My mother talks to me at times and tells me that I will never find another man with such patience and I believe her. She also advised that I am to take my time with him.

Please tell me what to do because I don't want to lose my relationship. Should I tell him about my concerns or what?

L.S., Portland, Jamaica

Dear L. S.,

You need to tell your boyfriend that you are moody, so he should not hold anything that you do or say to him against you. You have a good man. Therefore, you should learn to control yourself. You are correct, indeed. If you don't change your attitude towards him, he may get fed up and find comfort in the arms of another woman. By that time, it would be too late for you to get him back. A man can only take so much and no more. Learn to be sweet and caring. And ask God to help you to control your temper.

When you wake up in the morning, read your Bible and pray. Before you retire to your bed, do the same. And from time to time, pray and read the Bible with your boyfriend. Perhaps he would even propose to you, if he sees that your behaviour has changed.
