The Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court is still awaiting several outstanding statements to complete the case file on two men accused of fleecing several persons of money by promising them jobs in the Caribbean.
On Wednesday the court was informed that the matter was not ready for trial due to the outstanding statements.
The accused men, Damion Davis, 25, facing charges of five counts of obtaining money by means of false pretence and conspiracy to defraud; and Paul Trusty, 36, who is answering to a conspiracy to defraud charge.
RM Winsome Henry set an April 16 court date for the outstanding statements to be placed on file. Davis and Trusty, who reside in Runaway Bay, St Ann, had their bails extended.
Both men also have more than 11 similar charges against them in Hanover.
It is alleged that the men interviewed persons from St James and Hanover, promising them jobs in other Caribbean islands for a fee of US$400. Several persons bought plane tickets and went to specific islands but later learnt that no job had been secured for them.
The complainants reported the matter to the Fraud Squad after the accused men refused to reimburse their money.
