Accused robbers arrested

Two of three men accused of robbing a store at West Parade, downtown Kingston, on Tuesday, were taken into custody and two firearms seized.

Charged with intent to rob, robbery with aggravation and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition are Winston Griffiths, 38, higgler of Sea Breeze Avenue, Kingston 2, and Dwayne Satchel, 25, of Prince Albert Street, Kingston 4.

Reports are that about 4:40 p.m., two gunmen entered the store and demanded money from the employees. The robbers took a cellular phone, before being stopped in their tracks by a police party. The men ran when they saw the officers.

The officers chased and held them along with two firearms, a .357 Magnum revolver with six rounds of ammunition and a Taurus .38 revolver with five rounds.

Both men were arrested and charged. The Kingston Central police are investigating.
