Born Damion Wright in the parish of St Ann, Jahmeekye attributes his musical creations to the inspiration he says he receives from the 'Most High'.

He told The STAR that he has relied upon this divine inspiration ever since he started his musical career at age 12.

"My interest spans across recording and writing my own music and so far I have written over 200 songs which I hope to either perform myself or sell on to other established entertainers," JahMeekye said. He also told The STAR that Luciano has extended invitations for him to write lyrics for him.

Jahmeekye wrote his first single Free Your Mind which was recorded and produced by John Mctaggart. This he said "was a challenge, but nonetheless, a great accomplishment, regardless of the fact that the production label suffered from a lack of funds."

He told The STAR that he is always looking for ways to advance in his career. He has entered several talent competitions including the Reggae Trail Talent search for which he shared first prize with another contestant.

"I want to take my music to a global level," Jahmeekye told The STAR. He is making every stride in that direction. He is currently working on his new album called Spread Your Love. "This album is an exciting project as it involves the combined talents of a variety of producers: Heartache and Pain produced by Vincent Sinclair, No Money, No Honey produced by Jerome Young (AKA 3star) and Can't Be Trusted produced by Buba.

"In addition to that, I am looking for new creative opportunities to work with various upcoming and seasoned artistes alike to make music on my new record label Star Throne," he said.
