ASAJ ratifies Carifta squad

The Amateur Swimming Association of Jamaica (ASAJ) has ratified a 35-member team to the XXII Carifta Swimming Championships to be held in Aruba from March 27-30.

The team which is strengthened by 2007 individual medalists Jason Adams, Xavier Boland, Dominique Dawson, Raynae Hall, Matthew Hilton,Victoria Ho, Brittany Kenny, Kendese Nangle and Dominic Walter, will be seeking to improve on its fourth-place finish at last year's championships, which were held in Jamaica.

Nine swimmers will be making their Carifta debut for Jamaica, including Danielle Boothe, who is based overseas. The others are Rashida Shurland, Stefani Webley, Dominic Brown, Justin James, Sidrell Williams, Timothy Winter, Antoine Young and Dania Banks.

The full squad reads:

Girls 11-12 - Danielle Boothe, Octivia Gray, Breanna Roman, Rashida Shurland and Stefani Webley

Boys 11-12 - Dominic Brown, Justin James, Sidrell Williams, Timothy Wynter, and Antoine Young

Girls 13-14 - Dania Banks, Raynae Hall, Victoria Ho, Brittany Kenny, Kendese Nangle and Alexia Royal-Eatmon

Boys 13-14 - Xavier Boland, Matthew Chen, Prince Easton, Brian Graham, Shaun James and Steven Moodie

Girls 15-17 - Nicole Chin, Dominique Dawson, Lanesa Downs, Simone Hunter, Doniesha McKenzie and Lorian McMaster

Boys 15-17 - Jason Adams, Brian Forte, Richard Graham, Matthew Hilton, Rohan Johnson, Dominic Walter and Ramon Walton

National technical director of swimming, Jacky Walter, will lead the delegation as head coach and will be assisted by coaches Nathan Brown and Lynvall Lowe and M. Terry Hamilton as team manager.
