A St Catherine doctor who was charged with tampering with a crime scene, assaulting police and a host of other charges had her bail conditions removed when she reappeared in court.
Dr Sandra Nesbeth was told by Resident Magistrate Lorna Errar that she needs to return for her trial on May 26.
This was after Attorney-at-Law Paul Beswick made successful application to the Resident Magistrate citing that his client's condition of reporting twice to the police was affecting her job as a doctor.
"I think your honour for her to stop two times each week to report to the police is too much as she is definitely not a flight risk.
therefore, I am asking that you remove the condition of her bail."
The lawyer also highlighted that Ms Nesbeth had the evidence in her hand for almost one hour and was waiting to hand it over to someone.
Having heard the request, the senior RM then lifted the condition and instructed that Nesbeth should get back her passport.
Her appearance in court arose out of an incident last year when two men were shot by gunmen, one fatally. the police claimed that Dr Nesbeth came on the scene, picked up the spent shells and failed to hand them over to police personnel who turned up.
She was subsequently summoned to appear in court but failed and a warrant of arrest in court was executed upon her. she has been on $100,000 bail.
