Hot Seba burn Reno

Richard Bryan, Star Writer

Seba whipped Reno 4-1 at St Elizabeth Technical yesterday to end the second round of the Cash Plus Premier League on a high.

The game was effectively settled in the first half when Seba overcame an 18th minute strike from Obrian Woodbine to net three virtually unchallenged goals in the remaining 15 minutes of the first half for a 3-1 lead via the efforts of Kemar Mills (28th minute), Delroy Ellis (36th) and Omar Reid (45th).

Later they would find the fourth goal through substitute Donovan Peart's 81st minute strike after Reno's Nicoloy Findlayson was sent off in the 79th.

The win pushed the former champions to 29 points and set up a three-way tie with Boys' Town and newcomers St Georges. Reno are on 24 points, just above August Town (21) and Village (19).

Reno, desperate to shake off the lurking presence of the two teams favoured for relegation, began the game with promise, as wing back Woodbine rose high to head home a good cross from Dwyane Foster.

Seba hit back almost immediately, capitalising on the inexperience of Reno's young and unstable backline. Missing was Everton Palmer who now plays for Seba, Dwayne "Robot" Williams who has back overseas, and Patrick Graham who is injured. They were further hurt by the absence of Kendrick Quarrie.
