A man was arrested for his uncle's death while a husband was arrested in connection with the death of his wife in separate incidents in Clarendon and St Catherine.

Dead is Conroy Findlay, 35, of Ansby Town, Brandon Hill, Clarendon, while Paul Dennis, 32, also of Ansby Town, is facing a murder charge.

Reports say about 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, a dispute developed between Findlay and his nephew. During the dispute a machete was used to chop Findlay. The police were called and Findlay was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Crofts Hill police later arrested Dennis.

Meanwhile, a 35-year-old man was taken into custody following the fatal stabbing of his common-law wife at their home at Dunbeholden, St Catherine, also on Tuesday morning.

Dead is Marlene 'Mollo' Douglas, 41.

Police report that about 3:00 a.m., Douglas and her common-law husband were involved in a dispute, during which a knife was used to stab Douglas, killing her on the spot.

Following investigations by the Greater Portmore police, the common-law husband was taken into custody.
