Portmore hunt third hold on KO trophy

Anthony Minott, Freelance Writer

Cash Plus Premier League leaders Portmore United hunt their third consecutive hold on the St. Catherine Co-operative Credit Union/Happy Sutherland Knockout trophy when they take on Sunshine City-mates Naggo Head F.C. at the Prison Oval this afternoon. Kick-off time is 3:00 p.m.

Bodles and D.B. Basovak will play-off for third place at 1:00 p.m.

Full force

Naggo Head will feel the full force of a Portmore team that have prolific striker and national player Roen Nelson in their line-up, while fellow goal poacher Newton Sterling, young talent Ricardo Cousins and Mario Swaby will offer support up front.

Naggo Head, currently playing in the South Central Confed Super League, will definitely try and soak up the pressure from Portmore and counter through their mid-fielders Leigthon Barrett and Jerome Wedderburn while their top forward Rohan Cato will be asked to step up big time in the goal scoring arena.

In the semi-final games Portmore were ruthless against Bodles trashing them 5-0, while Naggo Head had to depend on an extra-time goal by Ralph Gordon for a 1-0 win over D.B. Basovak.
