Falmouth man to face court for murder

Garfield Dennis will face the Falmouth Resident Magistrate's Court on January 10 to answer for the murder of a 42-year-old woman on January 2.

Dead is Algeta Sawyers, also known as Deli of New Roads District, Trelawny.

Dennis, also known as John and also from New Roads District, was arrested and charged by the Warsop police after they investigated the murder.

Police reports are that at 8 a.m., Sawyers was at home when she was visited by Dennis with whom she had a long-standing dispute. During an altercation, she was stabbed to death. The police were alerted and the body removed to the morgue for post-mortem examination.
